In the Spotlight: Dr. Sherry Peel Jackson, Chaplain

Dr. Sherry Peel Jackson received her Chaplaincy certification from Global Oved Dei
Seminary and University (GODSU) at the GODSU Fall 2017 Graduation.

Sherry Jackson has over 30 years of experience in public, private and governmental
accounting, and financial education. Ms. Jackson conducts basic and advanced financial
education seminars and classes across the United States. She has instructed financial survival
classes for various organizations, including private companies, youth groups and the Federal
Bureau of Prisons. For governmental clients, Ms. Jackson performed full-scale audits and
financial training seminars. Ms. Jackson also provides consultation to individuals, agencies and
churches. For the Internal Revenue Service, Ms. Jackson investigated fraud and
embezzlement, helped prosecute bribery suspects and managed special investigation projects.
She is also experienced in the preparation and management of operating budgets and
associated financial statements. Additionally, Ms. Jackson has provided public relations
services for certified public accounting firms and non-profit organizations. Ms. Jackson received
her Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in 1987, and her Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
designation in 2001. However, she relinquished her licenses in 2007 in order to teach the truth
about our financial world without restraint.

While obtaining her Master’s degree in Christian Studies Sherry founded two ministries (Titus 2
and Wake The People) and managed a $1,200,000 budget at Cross Culture Church. A very
focused visionary she is now laser- focused on helping the Body of Christ keep the funds that
are earned, protect the funds and make them grow. With her detailed modules for churches
Sherry prays that Kingdom Advancement will begin as finances in the Body of Christ increase
and the visions God has given His shepherds come to fruition.

Chaplains are essentially empathetic trained leaders attached to a secular
institution/organization. Our Chaplains are certified and licensed. Also, Chaplains may be
ordained, commissioned by a particular domestication, or like GODSU, appointed. Initially,
Chaplains have been associated with representatives of the Christian faith; however, now the
term is used as a representative of any faith. At GODSU, the Interfaith Love Chaplaincy is
offered to accommodate non-Christians, or other spiritual people who have received their call to
serve others, in a way that is non-denominational or interfaith.

In general, Chaplains are expected to serve the spiritual needs of others. Here at GODSU, we
embrace the fact that people primarily need to be shown love, kindness, and empathy as human
beings. Not all Chaplains serve in the same areas. Some Chaplains deliver spiritual messages,
perform wedding or funeral ceremonies, administer sacraments, provide regular counseling, and
function as an advocate. Chaplains work in different areas and can be attached to many
professions from hospitals, military, law enforcement groups, political bodies such as The
United States Congress and Senate, to educational institutions, sports teams, and even some
corporate and music groups.
